Sketchline
Support
Frequently asked questions
Which devices are supported?
Sketchline runs on iPad with iPadOS 17 or later. An Apple Pencil is strongly recommended — first or second generation, and Apple Pencil Pro are all supported. The app is iPad-only and is not available on iPhone or Mac.
My Apple Pencil isn't drawing. What should I check?
Make sure the Pencil is paired and charged (Settings → Apple Pencil). If pressure or tilt aren't responding, check that "Allow drawing while writing" hasn't disabled finger input where you expected it. Restart the app if hover preview stops updating.
How do I export a drawing?
Tap the share button in the toolbar. You can export as PNG (rasterized image), PDF (vector when possible), or as a native .sketchline package that preserves layers and brush strokes. The .sketchline format can be reopened in the app or shared with other Sketchline users.
Can I import a photo as a reference?
Yes. Tap the import icon and choose a photo from your library. The image is added as a reference layer that you can resize, lock, or remove. Optional background removal is available via Vision.
Where are my drawings stored?
Drawings are stored locally on your iPad using SwiftData. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Use the export feature to save copies elsewhere. iCloud sync is planned for a future release.
How do I report a bug in the beta?
Use the TestFlight feedback button (long-press the app icon, or via the TestFlight app), or email the address below. Please include your iPadOS version, the app build number, and steps to reproduce.
How do I leave the beta?
Open TestFlight, tap Sketchline, and choose "Stop Testing." You can rejoin later as long as slots are available.
Known issues
- Hover preview may briefly disappear when switching brushes rapidly.
- PDF export rasterizes very large canvases above approximately 4096×4096 pixels.
- Background removal accuracy depends on the source photo and works best with clear subjects.
Still need help?
Send an email with your iPadOS version, the app build number (Settings → About), and a description of the issue.
